- 382 BC: Philip II is born in Pella, Greece.
- 368-365 BC: Philip is taken hostage in the city of Thebes in Greece, here he learns valuable military and political tactics.
- 359 BC: The Macedonian king Perdiccas III and 4000 of his army were killed in battle. Resulting in Philip ascending the throne.
- 358 BC: Philip fights the Illyrians in battle, beating them sufficiently.
- 357 BC: Philip regains Amphipolis that originally was seized by the Athenians in a treaty between Macedonia and Athens.
- 356 BC: Philip seizes cities eastward belonging to the Thracians and also belonging to Greece.
- 352 BC: Philip and his army conquer Northern Greece.
- 348 BC: Philip has expelled all Greek settlements on Macedonian shores.
- 346 BC: Philip ascends into the Greek Delphic Council to state his presence in Greece.
- 345 BC: Philip fought off Thracian, Greek, Illyrian, and Epirote rebellion groups.
- 339 BC: Philip conquered the Thracians after a series of battles.
- 339 BC: Philip defeats the Scythians.
- 338 BC: Philip began his conquest of Greece; his son Alexander was involved, even as a key member in the win against Greece at the Battle of Chaeronea.
- 336 BC: Philip prepares his conquest of Persia but is assassinated at his daughter’s wedding in a theatre, his assassin Pausanias; an enraged youth stabbed the king killing him instantly. Bringing the end to the kings reign.
